Description
A Traffic Impact Attenuator, also known as a Crash Cushion or Crash Attenuator, is a roadside safety device strategically placed in front of fixed hazards—such as barrier ends, bridge piers, or gore areas—designed to absorb and dissipate the kinetic energy of a colliding vehicle, thereby reducing the severity of impact and minimizing injury to vehicle occupants and damage to infrastructure.
Key Features of CCSII
- Compact and Lightweight Design
Reduced weight and narrower width enhance overall performance and ease of handling. - Easy Installation and Maintenance
Simple installation using anchors and screws allows for quick setup, hassle-free maintenance, and easy repositioning when needed. - Cost-Effective Structure
Simplified design and fewer components contribute to a more competitive price without compromising quality. - High Repairability
Designed for durability—can be easily repaired and restored even after multiple accidents or impacts.
Crash Cushion System II
Crash Cushion System II (CCS II) is engineered to protect vehicle occupants in cars weighing between 900 kg and 1500 kg from roadside hazards.
The Crash Cushion System II has been tested in Europe as a re-directive crash cushion for speeds up to 100 km/h, in accordance with the EN 1317-3 standard. To meet the full definition of a system-type tested crash cushion, the CCS II has also been tested at 110 km/h, 80 km/h, and 50 km/h.
EN 1317-3 Compliant: The CCS II is a re-directive, bi-directional, non-gating, impact-absorbing crash cushion compliant with EN 1317-3 standards.
Durable Construction: Made from galvanized steel for enhanced durability and long-term performance. And also available with powder coating if required in some part of the world.
Versatile Protection: The EN 1317-3 family of crash cushions offers a wide range of impact protection solutions for various hazards and speed conditions, while sharing most common components for simplified maintenance and logistics.
“The CCS II Traffic Impact Attenuator System has been successfully deployed in multiple countries, including Italy, Malaysia, Thailand, India, the United Arab Emirates, and the Republic of Korea, consistently demonstrating excellent performance and compliance with safety standards.”
